Every short-term route, in one place

If you already know you don't want a three-year commitment, the next question is which short-term route actually fits. Here's the difference, without the sales pitch.

Car Subscription

A short minimum term, one bundled monthly payment, then it just keeps rolling until you give notice. If your plans are genuinely fluid, this carries the least risk.

Explore subscriptions

Car Subscription

Short-Term Lease

Pick your end date up front — anywhere from 3 to 24 months — and the monthly rate drops below a subscription's in exchange for that certainty.

Short-Term Lease

Flexible Lease

Splits the difference: a short tie-in, usually three months, then notice-based like a subscription but priced closer to a fixed lease.

Vans & Commercial

Panel vans, crew vans, tippers and pickups, structured the same three ways. Six and twelve month terms cover most contract and seasonal work.

What's actually available today

Filtered to in-stock vehicles only, tagged GL or GPC in our system, which is why they can reach you in 3 to 5 working days. This pulls straight from our live feed, not a hand-picked list.

Process

From enquiry to your door in five steps

Tell us the brief

What kind of vehicle, roughly how long, your monthly mileage, and where in London it needs to land. That's enough to get moving.

We check what's real

Every quote is built from stock we can genuinely supply, with a lead time we'd stand behind — four weeks stated as four weeks, not glossed over.

A quote with nothing hidden

Monthly cost, initial rental, mileage allowance, the excess-mileage rate, and delivery charge, all written down before you decide anything.

Apply and get approved

A short application form. Straightforward profiles often clear the same day; anything specialist takes a little longer to place properly.

It arrives

Dispatched from our Derby, York or Leeds sites. In-stock vehicles land in as little as 3–5 working days, then we collect again once the agreement's done.

The small print, upfront

Exactly what's bundled into the price

A subscription or flexible lease folds servicing and maintenance into the monthly figure alongside everything else — you're left to sort insurance and fuel. A fixed short-term lease treats maintenance as an optional extra rather than a given; your quotation spells out which applies to you.

Subscription or flexible lease includes

  • Use of the vehicle for the full length of the agreement
  • All servicing and scheduled maintenance
  • Road tax, paid for the whole term
  • The manufacturer's warranty
  • 24-hour breakdown cover
  • Delivery to you, and collection when you're done

You arrange separately

  • A fully comprehensive insurance policy, taken out in your name
  • Fuel or charging costs
  • Congestion charge, ULEZ and any other clean air zone fees
  • Any parking or speeding fines you pick up
  • Damage that falls outside our return standards
  • Miles driven beyond your agreed allowance

Fixed short-term lease includes

  • Use of the vehicle for the full length of the agreement
  • Road tax, paid for the whole term
  • The manufacturer's warranty
  • 24-hour breakdown cover
  • Delivery to you, and collection when you're done

Not included as standard

  • Servicing and maintenance — not automatic here, but most agreements let you add it
  • A fully comprehensive insurance policy, taken out in your name
  • Fuel or charging costs
  • Congestion charge, ULEZ and any other clean air zone fees
  • Damage that falls outside our return standards
  • Miles driven beyond your agreed allowance

Harder cases welcome

Applications a lot of brokers won't touch

A five-year-old company with immaculate credit is easy for almost anyone to place. Our actual day-to-day work is everything that isn't that — and we've built the underwriting relationships to prove it.

New start-up businesses

Under two years old with no accounts filed yet? That's an automatic no at most mainstream funders. We place this profile constantly, usually against a bigger initial rental or a director's guarantee.

New business leasing

New start-up businesses

Expats & overseas customers

Arriving or returning to the UK without a recent local credit trail shouldn't be a dead end. We use funders who assess the person in front of them, not just a credit file.

Expat car leasing

Expats & overseas customers

Overseas directors & parent companies

UK company, directors or ownership sat overseas. It's a solvable structure, but only with a funder who's actually seen it before.

Overseas director leasing

Overseas directors & parent companies

Non-status leasing

Sits outside standard credit criteria for any reason — new company, foreign parent, thin UK history. A specialist underwriter looks at each case individually rather than a system auto-declining it.

Business & fleet

Whether it's one car or fifty, you get one invoice, deliveries staged to suit you, and a single person to call rather than a rotating helpdesk.

Worth reading first

We're not going to pretend we're always the cheapest

Short-term leasing has plenty of providers, and price isn't the only thing worth comparing. A few independent write-ups worth ten minutes of your time before you commit to anyone, us included:

We trade under Cocoon Vehicles Ltd, FCA-regulated and supplying vehicles since 2007. If one of these fits you better, go with them — a contract that doesn't suit you helps neither of us.

Frequently asked questions

A shorter list than the full FAQ — see every question we get asked.

Depends on the vehicle. Anything tagged with a GL or GPC supplier code in our system is physically sat on our fleet already, so once your order's signed and paid, 3 to 5 working days is typical — quicker again if you've already been credit-approved. Anything else is a pre-order, and the timing is whatever the supplying fleet tells us. We pass that figure straight to you rather than rounding it down to sound better.

There's always an initial rental — one to three months' worth, paid at the start, which is different from a deposit even though it feels similar. Whether a genuinely refundable deposit sits on top of that comes down to your status and is decided by the underwriters, not by us. You'll see both numbers, clearly separated, on your quotation before you sign anything.

No — that one's on you, deliberately. Keeping the policy in your own name means your no-claims history stays yours and you pick your own excess. Occasionally an insurer balks at a leased or subscription vehicle; if that happens to you, ask us and we'll point you towards a broker who deals with exactly this every week.

We come and collect it. That's it — nothing to sell privately, nothing to trade in, none of the residual value gamble that comes with owning outright. Wear gets checked against our own return standards rather than the industry-standard BVRLA fair wear and tear guide, unless you've held the vehicle past 18 months, at which point BVRLA's standard takes over. The BVRLA code of conduct applies to us throughout, regardless.

Often, yes. A subscription or flexible lease just keeps rolling once the minimum term's up, right through until the car turns three years old, with no swap forced on you partway. A fixed-term lease is less automatic, but extension or re-contracting is frequently possible if there's availability — the trick is asking before the return date arrives, not after.

Every borough, yes. Stock is prepared and sent out from our Derby, York and Leeds sites, and we quote a delivery charge specific to your postcode before you commit to anything. Congestion charge, ULEZ, and any clean air zone costs are yours to cover as the person driving it day to day — that's standard across every agreement we write.
