A subscription is a test, not a destination. If six months tells you an EV works, two things become worth looking at:
- A 12 month fixed lease — the same car, materially less per month, once you're confident about the commitment.
- Salary sacrifice — if you're employed and your company runs a scheme, this is by some distance the cheapest way for an employee to have an electric car, because payments come out of gross salary and the benefit-in-kind rate on EVs is very low.

Because the things that actually decide whether an EV suits you — real range on your real journeys, whether charging near you in London is genuinely convenient, true cost per mile — only surface once you've lived with the car for a while. Six months on a subscription answers all three, and you can walk away cleanly if the answer's no.
No, that's on you, same as fuel would be for a petrol car. Everything else — servicing, road tax, warranty, breakdown cover — is bundled in.
Generally, yes — far fewer moving parts, no oil changes, no exhaust to worry about. That saving's already priced into EV subscription rates, so don't expect to see it show up again as a bonus discount.
Substantially lower than petrol or diesel, which is exactly why EVs work so well as company cars and through salary sacrifice schemes. HMRC sets and revises the rate, so check the current figure, or ask us to confirm it against your specific P11D value.
You give notice and it goes back — the whole point of starting on a subscription rather than a three-year lease. Getting the EV decision wrong on a long contract is genuinely costly; on a subscription it costs you a month's notice, nothing more.
